Susan understands how a good massage can be therapeutic on many levels. Her massages are unique due to her years of experience as therapist, teacher and client and for usually including at least ten minutes of reflexology/shiatsu points on the feet at the end, which is a new experience for many clients.

She has over twenty five years experience as a massage therapist and taught for six years at the Swedish Institute in New York City, the country's oldest massage school (continuously operating since 1916), which offers a highly regarded program devoted to the art of massage. She is the author of a chapter called “When the Body Leads the Mind: Perspectives on Massage Therapy in the United States,” in the book Healing by Hand: Manual Medicine and Bonesetting in Global Perspective, 2004. Eds. Kathryn S. Oths and Servando Hinojosa. New York: Altamira Press.

“The skin is no more separated from the brain than the surface of a lake is separate from its depths… The brain is a single functional unit, from cortex to fingertips to toes. To touch the surface is to stir the depths.” D. Juhan
